Second Stage

Second Stage at CAP was started in 2008 with the move of the Cultural Arts Playhouse to their new Plainview location.  The mission of the Second Stage program is to produce plays and small musicals to audiences that might not otherwise get a run in a mainstage setting.  Utilizing the best in Long Island talent, Second Stage at CAP also functions as a teaching program in which students can learn the art of directing, stage managment, choreography, lighting and sound and set building and design from experienced professionals in the Long Island theatre scene.  All members of the production team participate on a volunteer basis, working only for the experience of teaching the next generation and giving them the benefit of their experience and expertise so that they can become successful.

Second Stage at CAP wants to hear your ideas!  Anyone interested in proposing a show for the program should contact the administrator, Jeff Pangburn at jeff@culturalartsplayhouse.com for more information.

Our first production will be the Musical Violet!
