Nik Sorocenski (Ren) is thrilled to be a part of Cultural Arts Playhouse's One Rockin' Summer! He is a senior at Stony Brook University studying Business Management with a concentration in Marketing. Nik is a co-owner of Suffolk Theatre Arts and Recreation, a traveling theatre company based out of Suffolk County (look out for our new name change!). He was last seen at CAP doubled (once again!) with Tyler Dema as Dean in All Shook Up. Outside credits include Gabe (Next to Normal), Jesus (Godspell), Robbie Hart (The Wedding Singer). Brooke (Ariel) is a rising junior at the University of Delaware majoring in Dietetics with a minor in Health and Wellness. She is thrilled to be returning to the CAP stage this summer along-side her real life daddy Bruce, her brother Jared and her best friends! Tyler Dema (Ren) is ecstatic to be returning to CAP this summer, playing one of his dream roles! Favorite credits include J. Pierrepont Finch (How to Succeed), Paul (A Chorus Line), Riff (West Side Story), Mark (RENT), Emmett (Legally Blonde), and La Cienega (Bring It On). Choreography credits include Camp Rock, All Shook Up, A Chorus Line, and Bring It On. He was most recently seen on the CAP stage as Dean Hyde in All Shook Up. He would like to thank Bruce, Eliana, Jon, Jared, and the entire cast for making this show amazing and so memorable. In the fall, Tyler will be attending Elon University receiving his BFA in Music Theatre.
Courtney O'Shea (Ariel) is a rising senior at Kellenberg Memorial High School. She is thrilled to be making her CAP debut in such an amazing production. Some of her past credits include Carousel (Julie Jordan), A Chorus Line (Diana Morales), 13! (Kendra), and Camp Rock the musical (Dana). Courtney would like to thank Bruce, Eliana, and Jon for giving her the amazing opportunity to perform in this show. She would then like to thank her parents, her sister Christina, and her friends for always supporting her in whatever she sets her mind to. Bruce is thrilled to be returning to the stage as Reverend Moore. He is even more thrilled to be appearing on stage with his two children Jared and Brooke, the latter who will also be playing his daughter in the show! As president of Cap, Bruce opened the theater two decades ago in its original location in Old Bethpage. Now located at its current location, he is excited to announce the theaters new expansion to Syosset in what will be a two theater complex featuring a large 200 seat house and a mini 60 seat theater as well as tons of parking!! Before opening Cap, Bruce appeared in commercials, TV pilots, and national and international tours. Over the years, he has had the pleasure to play roles such as Daddy Warbucks, Father in Children of Eden and Julian Marsh in 42nd St to name a few of his favorites. Bruce would like to congratulate this amazing cast and staff. He is very proud to have directed this group!!
Jared Grossman (Willard) is excited to get the opportunity to play a role he's always dreamt of playing. He and Willard are in fact very similar! Mama says it's his nature. Jared will be a senior at Molloy College where he studies New Media and English and is the president of the Performing Arts Club. When not gracing the CAP stage, you may find him staring at a blank computer screen in the basement of Molloy's Wilbur building getting no work done, or flinging rubber bands onto ski poles at his ski shop of employment.
Kristen Murphy (Urleen) is going into her junior year at Calhoun high school. Some past credits include @ "Sheila" (Hair) "Mimi" (Rent) "morticia" (The Addams Family) and "Patrice" (13 the musical). Kristen was also the 2013 winner of "Reach for the Stars" and the 2014 winner of "Got Talent Long Island" In her spare time, Kristen enjoys teaching as well as training in gymnastics and dance. Kristen is so excited and humbled to be a part of this production and would like to thank Bruce, Eliana, John, and Jared for all of their hard work and dedication to make this all possible.
Jackie Cotumaccio (Rusty) is a senior in high school at Kellenberg Memorial. Her past credits at Cultural Arts Playhouse include Maureen (Rent) and Sheila (Hair). Jackie has performed in New York City at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Madison Square Garden and McGuire Hall. In the summer of 2014 she was also named the winner of Oltreoceano International competition and got to perform in several different cities throughout Italy! Jackie also had the honor to perform with All-State and All-Eastern choruses. She is so happy to be a part of this production and would like to thank Bruce, Eliana, Jon, Jared and her extremely talented cast for this opportunity and all of the hard work they put into this production.
Jennifer Lancaster (Rusty) is a rising junior at Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School. She is more than ecstatic to be playing Rusty in Footloose. She is also currently the co-manager of an A Cappella group, Chock Full of Notes, at her high school. Allie Lambraia (Irene) is a rising junior at Hofstra University, majoring in Music Education. Past credits include Twelve Angry Jurors (Number Six), The Importance of Being Earnest (Gwendolen Fairfex), The Sound of Music (Elsa Schrader), The (Female) Odd Couple (Florence Unger), Beauty and the Beast (Mrs Potts), Brighton Beach Memoirs (Blanche), The Pajama Game (Babe Williams) and more! Allie has performed all throughout the north east; however, her favorite experience was her first time singing the national anthem at Citifield! Allie is thrilled to be making her CAP debut this summer, having performed this June in CAP's All Shook Up as an ensemble member. Nick Ticali (Lyle) is a rising Senior at Plainedge High School and can't wait for another exciting Summer at CAP! He has previously appeared in various shows including "13" (as Brett), "The Addams Family" (as Gomez Addams) and "Hair" (as Berger). Throughout the past year, Nick has created a formidable amount of memories, as well as made many valuable friends at the cultural arts playhouse. He would like to thank everyone at CAP and, most importantly, his loving and supporting family for getting him to where he is today! Ben Abrams (Garvin/Coach Dunbar) - Ben is so happy to be back on stage here at the Cultural Arts Playhouse. Some favorite CAP credits include Thenardier in Les Misérables, Zach in A Chorus Line, Lewis in Pippin, and Steve in Rent, as well as assistant directing the Long Island Premiere of Dogfight. Up at SUNY New Paltz where he just received his degree in Adolescent Education: Social Studies and was a key member of the Miami Theatre Players, he served as the director for both Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and The Wedding Singer, as well as the assistant director for Urinetown. He also appeared on stage in New Paltz as Mr. Bungee in A New Brain and Sam in The Wild Party. He would like to thank the cast and crew for making this quick 3-week rehearsal process challenging and exhilarating as well as Bruce for always welcoming me back to the CAP family each summer with open arms. He would like to also thank his friends, family, and everyone who came out to see this show and all the previous ones for constantly supporting him in all he does.
Michael Marmann (Chuck) is a rising sophomore at Molloy College, pursuing at BFA in Theatre Arts through the CAP21 conservatory in NYC. He is so excited to be back home at CAP this summer with the opportunity to perform alongside some of his best friends as well as his real-life Mom. This marks his third time doing Footloose, and he's officially rounded out the trio, having previously played Ren and Willard. Most recently, though, you may have seen him as Chad in CAP's production of "All Shook Up." Some of his other favorite credits include: "Bring it On" (Randall), "Little Shop of Horrors" (Seymour), "West Side Story" (Tony), "Dogfight" (Boland) & "Spring Awakening" (Melchior), and you can catch him as Tunny in "American Idiot" here at CAP next month. Some of his favorite TV shows include: "Arrow," "The Flash," "Lost," "Parks and Recreation," & "American Horror Story." His favorite foods are pizza, buffalo chicken, BBQ bacon burgers, and Little Bites. His favorite movies are: "The Amazing Spider-man," "Whiplash," "Silver Linings Playbook," and everything Marvel ever has or ever will produce. His favorite color is blue, he's never really been into cars, he likes really cool guitars and superheroes and checks with lots of zeros on 'em. Michael likes the sound of violins and making someone smile. When he gets sad, he stops being sad and be's awesome instead. True story. Tylar Benedetto (Featured Dancer)- Tylar is thrilled to be back at CAP this summer! James Walsh (Garvin / Coach Dunbar) James is happy to be on the CAP stage this summer. He just finished up CAP's All Shook Up as the male swing. James graduated from Ithaca College in 2014 with a BS in Strategic Communications and minors in Theatre and Voice. Currently he is an MTAA instructor for CAP, the Administrative Director for an improv troupe in NYC, and home renovating with his dad. James' favorite CAP credits include: A Chorus Line (Greg), Hair (Margaret Meed), In the Heights (Ensemble), Fiddler on the Roof (Perchik), and Into the Woods (Rapunzel's Prince). Zach Russo (Travis) is a rising senior at Marist College with a Communications major and a Music minor. Pearl Lockwood (Ethel/Elenour) is thrilled to be a part of this cast. During her downtime from the theater, Pearl is an attorney and co-owner of Lockwood College Consulting with her husband, Andy, and proud mother of Jack, Harry, Lizzie & Sammy. She is incredibly grateful to CAP for having reintroduced the theater back into her life after a 23 year hiatus. James Silverstein (Jeter) is entering his Senior year at Farmingdale High School. This is James' first Mainstage show at the Cultural Arts Playhouse. James is ecstatic to be participating in such an amazing production with such an incredibly talented cast. Some of James' past theatrical credits include Marius (Les Miserables), Claude (Hair), as well as ensemble roles in Rent, Damn Yankees, Aida, and several other productions. James also has had the pleasure of recently being accepted into the All-State and All-National mixed choirs. James is a current member of his high schools select Vocal Jazz choir and Barbershop Quarter as lead tenor. Investing his time in music and theatre for the past several years of his life, James plans on pursuing theatre in the future. James is incredibly blessed for this experience and would like to thank Bruce, Eliana, Jared, and Jon for all of their hard work and dedication into helping put together this successful production. Diane P. Marmann (Ethel/Eleanor) is thrilled to be back on the CAP stage having last appearing in All Shook Up. When not at the theater, Diane is an attorney with a sole practice in Mineola, NY specializing in Matrimonial, Real estate and Wills and Estates law. She also runs Grossman DVD and is a proud member of the Kings of the Coast Pirate Show. Diane has been involved with CAP for over 15 years as a director, stage manager, performer, counselor and “stage Mom”. Some favorite roles include: Female authority figure (Spring Awakening), Miss Hannigan (Annie), Mrs. McAfee (Bye Bye Birdie), Ms. Darbus (High School Musical), Prudy (Hairspray) and the Wicked Witch (Wizard of Oz) although she does love a good ensemble show such as Ragtime or A New Brain or stage managing shows such as Dogfight, Spelling Bee or the upcoming American Idiot. Thanks, as always, to Bruce, Jon, Eliana and Jared for the opportunity to work with such an outstanding cast of old friends and new, and gratitude for the hard work of the wonderful crew of this show. Paul Lichtman (Principal Clark) is honored and humbled to be a art of this incredible cast. While he is a science research teacher for the Uniondale Public Schools, his first love is theater. In fact, Paul is the Director/Actor in Uniondale's It's a Wonderful Life, which opens in December, 2015. Favorite credits include Social Security (Martin), Fiddler (Tevye and Lazar Wolf), Into the Woods .(Mysterious Man), West Side Story (Doc), Oliver (Mr. Bumble) and the list goes on and on. Samantha Novak (featured dancer/dance captain) is a rising senior at Molloy College studying Adolescent Math Education. At Molloy she is one of the Senior Class Presidents, as well as President of both the Education Club and Math Club, and a member of the performing arts club. Eliana is ecstatic to be choreographing Footloose and Directing/Choreographing American Idiot especially at her home theater! As a performer and a director/choreographer she has been a part of over 100 productions here at the Cultural Arts Playhouse. Aside from CAP, she has choreographed at several theaters across Long Island as well as Molloy College, Harborfields High School, Half Hollow Hills High School East, and she is the Director of the theater program at West Side School in Cold Spring Harbor. Recently she was also the Assistant to the Director for How the Grinch Stole Christmas at Madison Square Garden where she worked under Director Matt August. She has studied with world renowned choreographers Derek Mitchell, Kristin Sudeikis, Ginger Cox, and Emmy Award Winner Mia Michaels. Recent favorite choreography credits include: All Shook Up, Kiss Me Kate, The Addams Family, Deirdre a new musical, and In the Heights. Shari Cohen (Vi) is so excited to be making her CAP debut in such an incredible production. Past favorite credits include Damn Yankees (Lola), Grease (Sandy), Bye Bye Birdie (Rosie). While on hiatus from musical theater, Shari worked as a television news reporter for stations including CBS, UPN-9 and News 12. She was nominated for various awards, including an Emmy for her news reporting. Shari is also an attorney and worked as a legal news reporter, covering many high profile trials across the country. She would like to thank Bruce, Jon, Eliana and Jared for this wonderful opportunity to work with such an unbelievably talented cast and crew. A huge thanks to her friends and family for all of their love and support and especially to her 3 amazing children and husband.
