We’re excited to announce a brand new class structure at the Cultural Arts Playhouse—designed to give our students more opportunities, more flexibility, and more time to shine! Starting this fall, CAP will move to a session-based training program, allowing families to enroll in Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions rather than committing to a full year all at once. Each session runs approximately 10–12 weeks.

Our individual classes now focus on a well-rounded training approach, giving students hands-on experience in:

  • Acting

  • Singing

  • Movement & choreography

  • Character development

What This Means for You:

  • More flexible enrollment options

  • Lower upfront costs

  • Multiple performance opportunities throughout the year

  • A clear path for growth from beginner to advanced performers

Whether your child is stepping on stage for the first time or continuing their theatrical journey, CAP’s new program is designed to build confidence, creativity, and a love of performing—all in a supportive and professional environment.

Join us this fall season and experience the next stage of training at CAP!

Join our K-3 grade class on Mondays for an exciting introduction to theater! It’s a fantastic way for kids to build confidence, make new friends, and showcase their talents in a delightful production. Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity!

The Boy who Cried Wolf is about a family in ancient Greece has a son who is contrary.  He likes to joke around and have fun.  His parents and people in his town think it is time for him to learn the value of work.  They give him the job of tending the sheep.  They warn him of the dangers of wolf attacks, but assure him that they will be nearby if he needs help.  He finds this job very boring and decides to play tricks on the villagers as a joke.  He learns the value of being sincere when the wolf really attacks and no one believes him.

Mondays from 5:40-6:55pm

For over 30 years the MTAA students at the Cultural Arts Playhouse have gained the confidence and self-esteem to lead successful lives, whether on or off the stage.

Founded in 1995, CAP’s Musical Theater and Acting Academy is the most successful acting school on Long Island for children/teen/young adults. More than 40 of our students have worked on Broadway, national tours, regional theaters, movies, HBO specials, commercials, and voice overs.

Our approach to acting classes is centered around positive reinforcement, thus developing their confidence.

“Our daughter, has been struggling with anxiety disorder for years. Sometimes it is more quiet than others and can be debilitating for her in social situations. She loves the stage and it is clear that she has found her "thing"... it is her escape (probably like most actors).

When recently, she began struggling with school and even going to activities, she has found a safe and kind person and place in James and CAP.  He is reassuring when she feels uneasy and he gives her the gentle nudge and confidence she needs to move forward. It is very rare to find someone who can connect on such a deep level with kids and have the patience (of a saint!)....and not just with Nina, but all of the kids. They have a tremendous amount of respect for him and he puts his heart and soul into the production.

We are truly grateful to him and wanted to share our experience with you.
Wishing the CAP family a great summer and see you in September!”
