We have very exciting news to share with you!! The Cultural Arts Playhouse is expanding and moving to Syosset!! We have strategically picked a location which splits Plainview and Roslyn in the middle and making it convenient from both locations!
Roslyn and Plainview have been wonderful spaces to perform in, and we have done so many incredible shows at both locations. I am so proud of our accomplishments and the new space will be an opportunity for us to upgrade our presentations. The new Syosset location has unlimited parking resources so that all staff and patrons will be able to park right outside the building. The inside of the space will feature a Mainstage theater that will be a fourteen row stadium of 180 seats! The stage will be almost double the size of either Roslyn or Plainview and will have 500 square feet of wing space leading to the stage on both sides. Additionally there is a dressing room with a bathroom that leads directly to the stage! That means larger and fancier sets and more space to dance and shine!
The Mainstage will be a one of a kind room modeled like a true New York off Broadway house, similar to New World Stages. Also new Cap will have a second stage theater that will seat around 60 and will be used for a multitude of events ranging from straight plays to after show events to dance classes to rehearsals. There will be a scene shop and costume shop on the premises.
Finally, Cap will be expanding its class variety with technical light and sound classes, improv, film and dance! The new class schedule has been set up and will be available to look at online on Monday June 15th.
We are very excited about this move and expect Cap to continue to be the number one training facility for students of all ages ! With unlimited parking, taller ceilings, wings and a larger stage, a second stage and a scene shop on the premises, I hope you can understand why we are so excited and expect great things moving forward.
